Tebelo
“Developing leaders for tomorrow through Christian caring today”
Tebelo (“to care”) is a program of Turn2God to promote and actively assist T2G faith communities in the establishment of Child Care Villages for our region’s very many vulnerable and parentless little children. In this great commission that comes from Jesus Christ himself, “we develop Christian leaders of our communities for tomorrow by Christ-based caring of these little ones today”. Tebelo has been active over the past few months in these two projects:
1. Vastfontein, an independent Section 21 Child Care Village/School to the north of Pretoria
During a T2G outreach by Elza Meyer to Dubai in 2009, the Afrikaans Church of Dubai committed themselves to financially assist Vastfontein by a special offer taken up at Christmas. From this R46000 was made available to T2G/Tebelo by the members of this church earlier in 2010 of which one half was to be used to furnish the kitchen of the second Child Care Home while the other half was to be used for school books and writing needs. In January 2010 Rev Gert Els of the Dubai church visited Vastfontein.

In April 2010 a crisis hit Vastfontein when the engine of their school bus broke down and could not be repaired. For a week or two the children had to be conveyed to and from school by private vehicle (starting at 06h00 in the morning for school starting at 08h00) but the Lord spoke again to the Afrikaans Church in Dubai (who were not made aware of this crisis at Vastfontein!) who sent another R19000 “out of the blue” for general use at Vastfontein about two weeks later. This was truly from the Lord as it covered the necessary R18000 for a rebuilt engine almost exactly. T2G and Tebelo honour the members of the Afrikaans Church in Dubai for obeying the Lord so faithfully in this matter.

2. A new Tebelo Child Care Village in Rustenburg

A team from Tebelo plus Johan Grobler, founder of Vastfontein, were invited by Susan Cronje from the Agape Church in Rustenburg to give them guidance on the establishment of a Tebelo-type Child Care Village there. Susan was given this command by the Lord at the T2G outreach on 6 March 2010 in Pretoria and the team visited Rustenburg on 24 July 2010 to offer them our full support, and particularly our guidance and help through the Tebelo Child Care Village Framework (a “village in a box”) that is currently being established by Tebelo for use by such T2G faith communities.
Please pray for Susan, her friends and her Church that the Lord will not allow anybody or anything to distract them from this visionary project to also make a difference in the lives of God’s little ones in Rustenburg who are “hurting”.
3. Why Child Care Villages in our region for God’s “hurting little ones”?
