Daniel's prayer
We all know the story of Daniel that continued to pray to God, despite king Darius' decree that people shall only bow down to him. It is written in Daniel 6:10 (NKJV) that "Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days."
His continual prayer resulted in Daniel being captured and thrown in the lion's den, but God sent His angel to shut the lion's mouths (Dan 6:22) and Daniel was delivered. As a result of this king Darius turned around from his initial decree and honoured God by issuing another decree "that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel." (Dan 6:26)
A whole nation was turned to God, because of one man who persisted in his prayers!
