Hannah's prayer for a male child

One of the most touching examples of prayer in the old testament, is the story of Hannah who poured out her soul before God when she prayed for a male child. Her story is told in 1 Samuel 1:1 -18. The text that stand out to me is in verse 15 (NKJV) "But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord."

On Monday we will read what happened when God answered her prayer after she poured out her soul before Him, full of sorrow, bitterness and without any pretense. It shows that we can go to God in prayer, no matter how we feel or what we carry in our heart. The important part is to share our heart with Him so that He can heal it.
