Do not allow complacency to steal your victory
Daniel Kolenda says in his book "Your Kingdom Come" that complacency is the enemy of victory and the ally of defeat. Complacency is one of the most dangerous enemies of the believer because it is so easy to fall into, and very difficult to detect in our own lives.
In the word we are warned several times not to be complacent but to be sober and awake. Three of these scriptures are:
- Eph 5:14 (NKJV) “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
- 1 Thes 5:6 (NKJV) "Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober"; and
- James 5:16b (NKJV) "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
