About Unashamedly Ethical ("UE")

What is Unashamedly Ethical?

Unashamedly Ethical is a campaign promoting ethics, values and clean living. We work closely with the Global Day of Prayer, sharing the same founder & chairman, Graham Power. We facilitate the forming of local Unashamedly Ethical communities all over the world.

How the campaign works

The campaign is built upon three pillars, around which local communities form:

1. A challenge to people to make a public commitment to ‘good values, ethics and clean living’. Click HEREto view the various commitment forms.

2. An online directory of all signatories (organizations and individuals).

3. A presiding Ombudsman who holds all signatories accountable, and who will review written complaints against any signatory.

Understanding the purpose – Building Community

Our goal is to form local communities of signatories all over the world. The forming of communities is our goal, because community relationships are the heart of transformation. What ‘Community’ implies:

· Community implies a common crisis and/or a common cause. Our common crisis is the moral decay we see in our world. In response, all local community members have signed the relevant UE Commitment Form/s, are listed on the Online Directory and are accountable to the Ombudsman. These things form the ‘reason-for-being’ of our growing community.

· Community implies growing relationships. Building a successful community requires ongoing personal contact (fellowship) between members/signatories.

· Community implies mutual edification. We believe that as UE community members, we all require consistently good teaching and encouragement from those gifted to do so. Local UE communities are therefore encouraged to come together regularly to hear good speakers, thereby encouraging one another, and inspiring one another on to love and good deeds.

Knowing God

Step 1: God’s purpose - Peace & Life

Step 1

God’s purpose: Peace and Life

God loves you and wants you to experience peace and eternal life.

The Bible says:

“… we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Roman 5:1

“For God so loves the world that he gave his only Son, so that ever one who believes in him may not die but eternal life.” John 3:16

Since God planned for us to have peace and the abundant life right now …

Why are most people not experiencing it?

Step 2:

Our problem: Separation

God crated us to be like Him and enjoy life; He did not force us to love and obey Him, but gave us a will and freedom of choice. The first man and woman chose to disobey God and go their own wilful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God.

The Bible says:

“Everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence.” Romans 3:23

“For sin pays its wages- death; but God’s free gifts is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Through he ages, individuals have tried in many ways to cross this gap without success.

Step 3:

God’s answer: Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the only answer to this problem. He died on the cross and rose from the grave, took the punishment for our sins and bridged the gap between God and man.

The Bible says:

“For there is one God, and there is one who brings God and mankind together, the man Christ Jesus.” 1Tim2: 5

“But God has shown us how much he loves us- it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!” Romans 5:8

Step 4: Our Response: Receive Christ

We must trust Jesus Christ and receive Him by means of personal surrender and invitation.

The Bible says:

“Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God’s children.” John 1:12

Where are you?

Your beginning with Christ

Is there any good reason why you do not want to invite Jesus Christ into your life, right now?

How to begin your life with Christ:

1. Admit your condition (I am a sinner).

2. Be willing to turn from your sins (repent).

3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose again from the grave.

4. Though prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come into your life and take control of it, through the Holy Spirit. (Received Him as Lord and Savoir).

Example of what to pray: (make it your prayer)

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner and need Your Forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite you to come into my life. I trust you as Saviour and follow you as Lord.

Thank YOU lord, FOR SAVING ME.

Amen

 

The Bible says:

“If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

God’s assurance: His Word

If you have prayed this prayer, the Bible says:

“Everyone who calls out to the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

“For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boost about it.” Ephesians 2: 8 & 9

Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is he now? What has He given you?

The Bible says:

“Whoever has the Son has life, whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I am writing this to you so that you may know that you have eternal life – you that believe in the Son of God.” I John 5:12 &13

Walking with God

This is the begging of a wonderful new life in Christ. To deepen your walk with Christ.

  • Read your Bible everyday and get to know Jesus better this way.
  • Talk to God in prayer everyday
  • Allow the Holy Spirit to control your life.
  • Share your new life by showing your love and concern for others.
  • Find another Christian with whom you can pray and share your successes and failures.
  • Worship and serve with other Christians in a church, where Christ is lived.

“Behold I will do a new thing … I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert…”

“Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees … They will bear fruit every month … Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for medicine …” Isaiah 43:19 & Ezek 47:12
